FAQ's

A complete medical history and thorough oral/dental examination will be performed, and low radiation, digital radiographs will be taken (unless recent radiographs are provided). Any relevant findings and treatment recommendations will be discussed with you. The treatment plan, pre-treatment estimate of services, fees and sequence of appointments will be discussed with you at the earliest opportunity. If you have a dental emergency, we will make every effort to ease the problem at your first visit to our Centrepointe dental office.
Automatically, we estimate before major work. We can provide estimates for any other work, at your request, before you book the appointment (for basic restorations, hygiene, etc.).
Most patients feel no discomfort whatsoever during their treatment. We are using topical anaesthetics which are applied with a swab to numb the gums before the local anaesthetic injection is administered. He local anaesthetic will “numb” the tooth to be treated, so no pain will be felt during treatment. For children and patients with a fear of injection, we are offering the “Wand” which is an electronic injection device which delivers a very slow, constant flow, and minimizes the discomfort during the injection.
We begin the process of helping you deal with your dental anxiety at your phone call, while making your appointments. Please indicate that you are nervous about the treatment and the dentist and staff will inform you what to expect and answer your questions to ensure your comfort and peace of mind during your visit. During the procedure we ask patients to signal if they want a break and to communicate to us if there is anything we can do differently to make the experience less stressful. Stereo headphones are available or bring your own and slip away into your favourite music during the appointment. For extremely anxious patients, oral conscious sedation medication can be prescribed to take the edge off.
Young children are introduced to dentistry in a very gentle and careful manner. We are using special, age-appropriate words to explain to the child what we will be doing. Here in our Centrepointe dental office, we recognize that the first contact with dentistry can have a huge impact on the way a person will perceive the dental experience for the rest of their life, so we are very careful not to create negative memories.
Payment is expected on the day services are provided, unless other arrangements have been done beforehand. We accept: cash, cheques, Interac-direct payment, VISA, Mastercard. We do not accept American Express. A service fee is charged for returned cheques.
